Lenskart, a neo-fraud retailer specializing in eyewear, is in trouble after its screenshots of the February 2026 edition (Version 11.1) of its in-house publication were leaked onto social media. It was also said to ban visible Hindu symbols like religious tikka/tilak, bindi/sticker, and kalawa but permit black hijabs (without excessive covering on the chest, exposing the logo) and black turbans.
Certain contexts also discussed limitations on sindoor and chooda, which was an initiator of accusations of selective rules and anti-Hindu influence on social media. The alleged double-standards were pointed out by author Shefali Vaidya and numerous users.
Lenskart founder and CEO Peyush Bansal acted promptly on X by claiming that the document being spread is inaccurate and is not the same as the existing guidelines. It should not be limited to any kind of religious expression, and bindi and tilak are not in any way restricted by our policy, he stated, as the company will never limit respectful religious logos, and evaluated his policies. The explanation has not muffled the furor completely, and demands of standardized apathy in corporate India have been voiced.
