On its territory, an inferno almost destroyed the Dubai International Airport (DXB) on 16 March 2026, as a drone, which is thought to have been launched by Iran, hit a fuel tank in the area of the airport. Camerawork videos are displayed with increasing heaps of flames and thick black smoke, which is filling up the skies and is noticeable by people miles away and sending the viewers into a panic.

There were no casualties on the scene, but the event caused the complete suspension of all arrivals and departures at DXB and diversions to Al Maktoum International (DWC) and other airports in the region. Some of the flights were canceled or postponed indefinitely.
