The National Testing Agency (NTA) has abandoned the May 3 conducted NEET UG 2026 exam after reports of a massive paper leak surfaced. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has scrapped the exam for NEET UG 2026, which was conducted on May 3, on the allegation of a leakage of papers. A report says a ‘guess paper' circulated on WhatsApp and other platforms in the State of Rajasthan has about 120 questions, which are very similar to the real question paper.
The approval by the government of India comes after feedback from the law enforcement agencies. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR and launched a probe into the irregularities. The students who appeared for the exam across India as well as overseas this year number more than 22.8 lakh in total and are waiting for a new time for their re-examination.
The cancellation has led to protests by schoolchildren in various cities and also brought up awareness about past controversies. NTA has assured that they will not impose any extra fees and the process will be transparent so as to gain the trust of the public in the system again. New examination dates will be announced soon.
