The son of the late Mulayam Singh Yadav, who founded the Samajwadi Party, Prateek Yadav died in Lucknow on Wednesday morning. He died at the age of only 38. Family members took him to a civil hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 6:15 AM. The body did not show any immediate injuries. The post-mortem examination was ordered at King George's Medical University (KGMU). His remains have been sent there to get a detailed examination of his death.

Prateek was wed to BJP president Aparna Yadav and didn't involve himself much in political activity. He was an animal lover and harbinger of good health and business interests. The Yadav family has been shocked at his sudden passing. Akhilesh Yadav reached the hospital amid tight security. Condolences from all over the country from politicians of all parties.
