In a gruesome attack that has chilled the blood of the urbanite in Bengaluru, 27-year-old Kiran V. was brutally murdered on the main road in Ramamurthy Nagar Monday. The upsetting video was captured on mobile phones and CCTV cameras and depicts two men supposedly assaulting Kiran with a heavy jack rod and hitting him with it severely, even when he fell to the ground.
The attack is also said to have been caused by a raging argument over a financial issue. The defendant, who was an auto driver, and his partner came to the location in an auto-rickshaw and then proceeded to attack the woman and, escaping, took off while driving. Six hours later, police neutralized the suspects.
The unemployed Kiran, having some cases registered against him in the past, died on the spot after sustained head injuries. The ugly footage going viral on social media has resulted in widespread outrage and caused serious concerns about the increasing violence on the streets and the safety of residents in the tech capital. The government has initiated an elaborate investigation as citizens are pressing the government to take more stringent measures against this kind of impunity.
