The TCS Nashik sexual harassment and forced religious conversion scandal has taken a more sinister twist with news spreading of targeted Hindu employees even being prepared to be trafficked to Malaysia.
Those who are investigating the case have managed to recover WhatsApp conversations and other digital material that connects a Malaysia-based preacher, who is known as Imran and committed victims through video calls, promising them a better lifestyle and opportunities in a foreign country. Other victims reported that they were coerced into converting to Islam, altering their way of life, and taking down Hindu religious figures in their houses, and they were even invited to apply to get passports.
Six employees, including Shafi Shaikh, have been arrested, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the larger net. A minimum of nine FIRs describe a 4-year history of coercion, blackmail, sexual manipulation, and religious persecution of predominantly Hindu employees at the BPO division.
TCS has put the suspected individual on suspension, and it has initiated an internal investigation since it has zero tolerance towards such wrongs. The case has resulted in nationwide outrage and even ended up in the Supreme Court.
