The collapse of the revered Shiv Mandir at Summer Hill in Shimla has sent shockwaves through the region. As monsoon rains continue to lash the area, the temple's structure gave way, trapping several people under debris. Authorities, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and police officials, responded swiftly. Chief Minister Sukhu expressed his distress on Twitter and assured that rescue operations are ongoing to save any possible survivors.

In the midst of these tragic events, another natural disaster unfolded as a cloudburst struck a village in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of seven individuals. The relentless downpour triggered landslides and rendered numerous roads impassable. The Shimla-Chandigarh road, a vital route, has been temporarily closed to buses and trucks.With the situation growing dire, the state government has taken proactive measures. All schools and colleges in Himachal Pradesh have been instructed to remain closed until August 14, prioritizing the safety and well-being of residents and students amidst the ongoing weather-related challenges.
