On Sunday night, US President Donald Trump sparked another controversy on his part when he made a scathing attack on Pope Francis, describing the American-born pontiff as WEAK on crime and terribly bad on foreign policy amidst differences on the US military actions in Iran.
Trump later published an AI-created image on Truth Social, now featuring a white- and red-robed Trump, similar to some classic scenes of Jesus Christ, with his hand at the forehead of a sick person as if he were healing him, with others such as doctors and military personnel in the background all staring at him in amazement, just 40 minutes later.
The unaccompanied image caused an instant reaction amongst Christian conservatives and Catholics, who denounced it as a blasphemous and messianic piece of art. Trump subsequently removed the post and, when asked about it, said he believed that it was an image of him as a doctor and not Jesus. He had no intention of apologizing to the Pope and did not back down on his criticism.
The event has also strained relations between the Vatican and the White House, emphasizing profound differences on religious, political, and personal aspects of Trump.
