On March 6, 2026, in a historic win for thousands of candidates, the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 were announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). A student of Rajasthan, Anuj Agnihotri has secured All India Rank 1, becoming the first in the history of India to do so in one of the most difficult tests.
Of the 1,087 vacancies (including reservations), 958 candidates have been suggested to be recruited to elite services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and several Central Services. The combined marks achieved on the Mains written exam and personality test (interview) in the form of a merit list are available in PDF on the official site, upsc.gov.in.
The analysis process started with Prelims on May 25, 2025, and then Mains in August, and interviews will end in late February 2026. Candidates that are successful will shortly be allocated training and postings. Individual marks can be checked by the aspirants in 15 days. The outcome of this has created rampant celebrations nationally, motivating the new breed of citizens in office.
