Raghav Chadha, the ex-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP famous for his scathing critiques of the BJP, has suffered digitally after he quit the AAP to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on April 24, 2026, along with six other ex-AAP MPs.
Chadha's Instagram following has significantly dropped from 14.6 million to almost 12.5 million, with some sources estimating he lost more than 2.1 million followers in a matter of days. The "unfollow Raghav Chadha" campaign made waves among Gen Z young voters, whom he was considered a "rebel icon" by.
Chadha is accused of cutting out posts on X (Twitter) and Instagram criticizing PM Narendra Modi and the BJP from his accounts (more than 200 posts) and retaining only a small number of supportive posts. Chadha has accused the opposition of a "smear campaign."
The dramatic shift has put AAP in a tight spot on the Rajya Sabha floor and sparked heated discussions on social media about politics and defection.
