A huge political tempest in West Bengal was caused by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who, when asked why the BJP could never get an opening in the state, answered that had Mamata Banerjee run a clean government and not polarized the state, then the Gandhis would have never created the opening that the BJP needed.
Gandhi said in a video message, "Had Mamata ji not polarized the state so much, could she not have cleared the road to the entry of the BJP had she only led a clean government?"
The BJP West Bengal cell promptly posted a 13-second video of the comment on social media and credited Rahul Gandhi with saying the truth. The fratricide occurs on the PHASE 1 polling day, which escalates the triangular battle between TMC, BJP, and Congress.
The entire speech by Rahul also encouraged the electorate to vote in favor of Congress, although it was a methodical application of the clip to attack Mamata, as the BJP also
