Pakistan has been consistent in the mysterious assassination of high-profile terrorists, with most having their affiliations with anti-India organizations such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). In more recent years (2022–2025), people have been killed by representatives of unknown gunmen (known to ride on motorcycles), who include such the targets of an aide to Hafiz Saeed (Abu Qatal, an aide to Hafiz Saeed, killed in March 2025 in Jhelum), the top terrorist of LeT (Saifullah Khalid, killed in May 2025 in Sindh), the mastermind of the Pathankot attack (Shahid Latif, killed in October 2 Since 2020, the list of such cases is over 30, and the assailants have managed to escape. Pakistani officials accuse the hostile agencies, though the speculations are on internal battles or foreign activities. Such killings have shaken the terror networks, leaving one wondering who is doing the clean-up operations on Pakistani soil. The incidents have not been claimed by any particular group.
