New Delhi: Delhi Capitals posted the lowest-ever IPL powerplay score of 13/6, failing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru during their IPL 2026 showdown at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 27.
Batted first, DC’s top order didn't hold up to the onslaught of the RCB bowlers. Both Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up three wickets in the first six overs, reducing DC to 13/6. This was the lowest ever conceded in a powerplay, surpassing the previous record of 14.
DC was bowled out for a meager 75, their lowest score in IPL season three. RCB chased the target comfortably. The embarrassing start has led to a lot of discussion on social media about DC's battling frailty. It has been touted as one of the most shameful power plays in the league's history.
This dubious record is only adding to DC woes in the IPL 2026.
