In one of the most discussed events of IPL 2026, 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made an entry in a spectacular fashion against Jasprit Bumrah, owned by the Mumbai Indians, during their rain-cut-short clash at Guwahati.
Against the world’s best death bowler in the first ball of his innings, the fearless teenager sent Bumrah way up long-on to hit him a massive six. Strauss, unabashedly, Sooryavanshi followed with another scudding short ball as a second 6 off only five lawful deliveries against the super pacer.
It has become a viral reaction of Bumrah, who managed to express his astonishment and a calm smile at the same time, and the fans have complimented the boldness of the young gun and the good chivalry of the bowler. Sooryavanshi eventually retired on a scorching 39 off 13 balls, with five sixes, as well.
The Rajasthan Royals went ahead to emerge as the match-winners by 27 runs. The Bihar-born phenomenon, who is now nearing his 100th season, has shocked the experts and fans with his fearless knock, and many might term this one of the greatest IPL episodes ever.
