The Mumbai Indians' IPL 2026 season came to a heartbreaking end when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat them on the final ball, keeping them out of playoff contention in the tournament.

Last weekend, the last ball, six, or boundary (as per requirement) brought a frenzy to the huge Chinnaswamy crowd in Bengaluru as RCB chased down the run requirement of the opposition. Virat Kohli's men saved their chances in the playoffs as they bowed out of the season in Mumbai.

Even though they had interesting combinations with Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav in the initial stages of the season, MI failed to nail the results that were required in the last few matches. Hardik Pandya was blamed for his leadership in the form of the home side, as they couldn't manage to make the playoff for the second year in a row.

RCB has brought new energy to the playoff battle, as there are still several teams out there. All MI fans have to say about this is "Ouch ouch ouch!"
