India vs New Zealand 2021: Wriddhiman Saha scores a fifty in painful circumstances.

Former India cricketer VVS Laxman also lauded wicketkeepers fighting fifty in Kanpur.

In the wake of playing a gritty inning, India wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha said that he is happy to add to the group's motivation during the continuous first Test against New Zealand, around here at Green Park Stadium on Sunday. The 37-year-old, who didn't keep wickets on Day 3 because of a hardened neck, played a strong thump (61 not out) and intrigued everybody with his battling soul. 


The pain in his neck forced Saha to change his batting stance and physio also came during breaks to check him but he batted through all this to put India in the driver’s seat on a penultimate day. “Success is not in what you have, but who you are. Glad to contribute to the Team’s cause. @BCCI," wrote Saha on his Twitter handle.


Previous Indian cricketer VVS Laxman additionally hailed wicketkeepers battling fifty in Kanpur. "What a splendid 50 years from @Wriddhipops. To fight a hardened neck and to show that battle and assurance mirror the genuine person of this hero player. Keep it up Wriddhi #NZvIND," tweeted Laxman, who has worked intimately with Saha at Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. 


New Zealand were 4/1 at stumps on a retaining day four of the continuous first Test against India. With only one day left in the match, New Zealand is presently confronted with the difficult task of making 280 runs with nine wickets close by.
