Rajasthan Royals (RR) have single-handedly taken over the top place in the IPL 2026 points board after crushing Mumbai Indians (MI) by 27 runs in the shortened match (11 overs) at Guwahati on April 7.
This victory has given RR 3 wins out of 3 matches, making 6 points and having a superb Net Run Rate (NRR) of +2.403. A 77 by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who went on strike without hitting a single six, enabled RR to reach 150/3, but their bowlers prevented MI from reaching 123/9.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) are in the second position with 5 points after 3 matches (NRR +0.637), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are in the third and fourth positions, respectively, with 4 points after 2 matches.
The loss in its second consecutive match also saw the Mumbai Indians fall to the seventh position with 2 points with 3 matches being played. The entire revised IPL 2026 points table is an indication of the reign of RR at the beginning of the season, with teams preparing to face more high-stakes games.
