True to its name, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi wrote more IPL history in Match 32 of IPL 2026 between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Rajasthan Royals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, breaking not one, but two major records, at the tender age of only 15.
Vaibhav became the youngest IPL batter to reach the 500-run mark when he achieved it at 15 years and 27 days old; Prithvi Shaw reached the milestone at the age of 19 years and 164 days.
He also surpassed Glenn Maxwell, who had taken 260 balls to reach the 500-run mark to become the quickest of all in terms of balls.
In total, Sooryavanshi has hit 506 runs in 14 IPL matches with an average of 38.92 and a scorching strike rate of 217.17, with both his fifties this season being recorded on a total of 15 balls as joint third-fastest in the history of the IPL.
The Bihar boy was already a headline about the youngest IPL centurion in men's T20 and, in early 2026, led India U19 to the World Cup. What is the future of Indian cricket? It's already here.
