In a match with high scores at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the 2026 IPL Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 43 runs on April 5, 2026. RCB, who opened the batting, gave a scintillating performance to notch up a daunting 250/3 in 20 overs. Tim David had a scorching, unbeatable 70 off 25 balls, which was well assisted by Devdutt Padikkal (50) and Rajat Patidar (48*).
With an imposing target of 251 in pursuit, CSK started shakily and could not revive. Sarfaraz Khan had made a fast 50, but frequent wickets stopped their progress. Prashant Veer did put in 43, but the middle and lower order failed to withstand the attack of the bowlers of RCB, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/41) at the fore. It eventually took CSK 19.4 overs to be bowled out and finish with a score of 207.
The win means the fourth in a row of RCB defeating CSK and catapulting to the head of the IPL 2026 points table, whereas CSK loses the third game in a row.
