The Indian team/squad for T20 World Cup 2021 will be announced on Wednesday, 8 September. Team India will be announced in the meeting of the selection committee headed by chief selector Chetan Sharma to be held in Mumbai. During this, all the selectors will also talk to Captain Virat Kohli, who will virtually attend this meeting from Manchester. In this meeting, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and selection committee convener secretary Jay Shah will also participate.
Let us tell you that all the teams participating in the T20 World Cup have to declare their squads by 10 September. BCCI will announce 15 members of the Indian team for T20 World Cup. Apart from this, five players can be included as a reserve. The International Cricket Council (ICC) will bear the expenses of only 15 players. On the other hand, the expenses of the reserve players have to be borne by the respective cricket board.
Young wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan played some good innings for India on the recent tour of Sri Lanka. In such a situation, Ishaan Kishan can be given priority over Sanju Samson. Spinners Varun Chakraborty and Rahul Chahar will also be eager to make a place in the team. At the same time, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has not bowled as much in recent times. In such a situation, the selectors can also consider the name of Shardul Thakur. Shardul made a stellar contribution with both the ball and the bat in the historic Oval Test against England.
