Due to several reasons, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will not attend the Met Gala 2026, multiple sources confirmed on May 4. The choice comes just when the star, expecting her second baby with husband Ranveer Singh, has to continue with her busy shooting schedule.

Deepika is presently shooting with Shah Rukh Khan in King in Cape Town and also preparing to shoot Allu Arjun's Rakka. According to a source, “She is passionate about films and only wishes to get the shoots done. With King due at the end of this year and Raaka next year, they are willing to get the shoots complete.

It is the first occasion in recent years that Deepika is skipping the event, where she turned heads in the previous three years, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Although Karan Johar is set to make his Met Gala debut, Deepika shares the list of celebs who are not attending the star-studded night. She is appreciating the fact that she has been focusing on her family and her career in this special period.
