Ishita Shukla, the younger daughter of Bhojpuri actor and Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan, has chosen a path far removed from Bollywood glamour. Instead of following her father’s footsteps in films or her sister Riva Kishan into acting, she joined the Indian Armed Forces.

A former NCC cadet from the 7 Girls Battalion of the Delhi Directorate, Ishita trained rigorously and was selected for the Republic Day Parade contingent at Kartavya Path in 2023. Later that year, at the age of 21, she enrolled as a Mahila Agniveer under the government’s Agnipath scheme.

Ravi Kishan has often expressed pride in his “brave daughter,” noting her years of preparation and even describing her as a sniper shooter. Her unconventional choice has drawn appreciation from celebrities like R Madhavan and Anupam Kher. Born in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, and a graduate of Rajdhani College, Delhi University, Ishita continues to inspire with her commitment to serving the nation.
