Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has strongly denied a viral statement circulating on social media that claimed she said, “You can’t get skill through reservation.”
The actress took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday and wrote, “I am shocked to see fake statements on reservation falsely attached to my name. This is completely fabricated, malicious garbage. Do not fall for this fake news!”
A manipulated screenshot, believed to be AI-generated, had been widely shared, attributing anti-reservation remarks to her. Shilpa clarified that she never made or posted any such comment.
The false claim sparked online debate amid ongoing discussions on India’s reservation system. Fans and media outlets quickly amplified her clarification, confirming that no such post exists on her verified accounts.
Shilpa’s swift response aims to stop the spread of misinformation and protect her from being dragged into a sensitive political issue she never commented on.
