Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani has squarely supported Arijit Singh after the latter announced that he would retire his playback singing in January 2026. Dadlani explained in a recent episode of the podcast Untriggered with AminJaz that whatever he pleases is all right. I love that guy. He is a good guy... I'm on his side."
Arijit, who has ruled Bollywood music with hits in the charts for more than a decade, declared that he would never accept any new movie work, but he would still be making independent music and meeting the already agreed assignments. In the same Instagram message, Dadlani has highlighted that creatives must do what brings them real happiness, which he reiterated in his previous post that success would give him no peace or fulfillment.
The response on the part of the industry illuminates the respect of the acting towards Arijit on the decision he took in the middle of his career. The move has received acclaim by fans and peers as a courageous use of words by Dadlani, and his words have become a common refrain on its purity and brotherhood. With the change of the focus of Arijit, Bollywood music is preparing a new era with more unreleased tracks to be expected by the year 2026.
