Most people keep all food in the refrigerator, but there are certain foods that would last longer and even taste better when stored at room temperature.
The following are 6 that you must never keep in the fridge:
Tomatoes- They become cold and tasteless. Store in a non-sunny place against the counter.
Potatoes—Fridge changes starches into sugars, resulting in a bad taste of food cooked and sprouting of food faster. Store in a cool and dark well-ventilated location.
Onions—Wetness in a fridge results in mold and sprouts. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area (grain must not be stored together with potatoes).
Bread—It is dried, and staling is accelerated by refrigeration. Should be kept in a room-temperature bread box or paper bag; must be frozen to last long.
Garlic—A fridge encourages the development and growth of molds. Insert entire bulbs in an open basket, which is dry.
A garbage fridge retards ripening. Store only not-yet-ripe fruits on the counter and keep refrigerated only when required and only momentarily.
Bonuses are usually those items like bananas, honey, and coffee beans, which lose quality when they are kept cold. Fresh and the best is kept in proper storage!
