On Monday, India has recorded 1,549 fresh Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest in around 688 days, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. The total tally has now reached to 4,30,07,841, while the active cases have declined further to 26,240, said the Union health ministry's data. 

India has also recorded 2,652 recoveries in the last 24 hours, pushing the caseload of total recoveries to 4,24,67,774, said the ministry. 

Meanwhile, the death count has climbed to 5,16,510 with 31 daily fatalities, as per the the data updated at 8 am. The active cases comprise 0.06 per cent of the total infections. The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 per cent, it showed.

A reduction of 1,134 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.40 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 0.40 per cent, the ministry said.  

The time gap between two doses of Covishield decreases 

India’s top vaccination advisory panel, National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI), has recommended to reduce the interval between administering the two primary doses of Covishield to 8-16 weeks, reported the Times of India. 

Delhi's Covid-19 vaccination status, 90% Fully vaccinated 

The vaccination against Covid-19 started in 2021 in the national capital. Starting with senior citizens, more than 1.3 crore or 90% of the city’s adult population is now fully vaccinated. On the other hand, 70% teens in the 15-17 years age group, who became eligible for vaccination around two months ago, are also now fully vaccinated.

Assam reports four new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

Assam has reported four new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, as per an official bulletin on Sunday. The current active caseload in the state stands at 18, with daily positivity rate at 1%.
