On Wednesday, August 3, India logged 17,135 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 47 fresh fatalities and 19,823 people recovering from the deadly infection, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the total tally of Covid-19 infections in the country has climbed to 4,40,67,144 and the death toll has climbed to 5,26,477, said the ministry.
Recovery caseload reaches 4,34,03,610
Comprising 0.31 percent of the total infections, the active caseload currently stands at 1,37,057, said the ministry. With the recovery rate standing at 98.49 percent, the total tally of recoveries in the country has reached 4,34,03,610 including 19,823 recoveries being reported in the last 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 3.69 percent and 4.67 percent respectively, said the data.
Maharashtra
On Tuesday, Maharashtra logged 1,886 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 5 fresh fatalities and 2,106 people recovering from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, as per the health official.
Mumbai
On Tuesday, Mumbai reported 329 fresh cases of coronavirus along with 263 people recovering from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, as per the state health department.
