India's daily Covid-19 tally has fallen down to 20,799 as total cases have reached to 33,834,702. With fresh recoveries at 26,718 the death toll rises by 180 deaths, as per the data updated by Union Health Ministry on Monday.  As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 574,252,400 samples tested for Covid-19 till October 3, 2021, including 991,676 on Sunday. 

India's active cases account for less than 1% of the total infections, currently standing at 0.78% which is the lowest since March 2020. The active case count stands at 2,64,458 which is the lowest in 200 days.

The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.89% which is the highest since March 2020. With 26,718 fresh recoveries in the last 24 hours the number of total recoveries have reached to 3,31,21,247.

The daily positivity rate as per the number of positive cases identified per 100 now stands at 2.10% which is less than 3% for last 35 days. The weekly positivity rate stands at 1.63%. 

In West Bengal Covid-19 death count has reached to 18,825 including 10 fatalities due to the disease on Sunday, as per the bulletin released by the state health department. The tally has reached to 15,71,240 including 701 more people testing positive for the infection, the bulletin said. In the last 24 hours, 684 patients have recovered from the disease in the state taking the total number of recoveries to 15,44,828. The number of active cases stands at 7,587.
