India has reported 26,727 fresh Covid-19 cases and 277 deaths in 24 hours. As per the data updated by Health Ministry, more than 58 lakh vaccine doses were administered on Thursday till 7 pm. "The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late night", the ministry said.

As per the ministry’s data, a total of 64,98,28,333 first doses and 23,97,86,150 second doses of the vaccine have been administered across the country. The total case load on Thursday stood at 14,38,868. Apart from this, over 14.13 lakh patients have recovered from the virus to date.

As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 57,04,77,338 samples tested for Covid-19 up to 30th September 2021. Including  15,20,899 samples were tested yesterday. 

Phase 2/3 trials of Covovax Covid-19 vaccine in children between ages 7 and 11 have started in Pune's Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College and Hospital. 

As per the data shared by city's health department, on Thursday, Delhi has recorded 47 fresh Covid-19 cases and zero deaths with a positivity rate of 0.06%. The death toll stands at 25,087. At present, there are 400 active cases in Delhi.

Kerala has reported 15,914 fresh cases on Thursday which is higher from 12,161 on the previous day. 

In Thane district of Maharashtra, the coronavirus infection tally increased by 241 to reach 5,59,351. The fatality count has reached to 11,410. The Covid-19 mortality rate in Thane is 2.03% at present, an official said.
