On Monday, India has reported 8,488 new cases which is the lowest in 538 days, along with 12,510 recoveries and 249 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Health Ministry. Active cases stand at 1,18,443 which is the lowest in 534 days and account for less than 1% of total cases.
The country's total tally of Covid-19 cases has reached to 3,45,18,901, according to the Union Health Ministry data. With 249 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, the caseload of fatalities due to the infection in the country has reached to 4,65,911. The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 45 straight days, and less than 50,000 for 148 consecutive days now.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Kerala has registered 5,080 new Covid-19 cases and 40 fatalities, the state health department said. The active caseload in the state stands at 58,088 and with 40 deaths, the total death tally has reached to 37,495. As per the bulletin issued by the state health department, "as many as 7,908 recovered from the viral disease in the last 24 hours, the recoveries in the state mounted to 50,04,786."
On Sunday, Assam has reported 91 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to reach 6,15,382, said the National Health Mission (NHM). With 1 death due to coronavirus, the total number of fatalities has reached to 6,072.
