On Wednesday, India has recorded 10,197 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which 15 per cent higher than the previous day when it had recorded 8,865 new coronavirus infections, which was the lowest in 287 days, said the data updated by Union Health Ministry. Moreover the data said, 12,134 people have recovered from the infection in a day while the country recorded 301 fresh fatalities due to the infection in the last 24 hours.

At present, the active coronavirus caseload stands at 1,28,555 which is the lowest in 527 days. The daily positivity rate in the country stands at 0.82 per cent, less than 2 per cent for the last 44 days while the weekly positivity rate is 0.96 per cent, which is less than 2 per cent for last 54 days.
As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeds 113.68 crore. More than 67.82 Lakh doses have been administered in the last 24 hours.
