As per the data updated by Union Health Ministry on Wednesday. India has reported 26,964 fresh Covid-19 infections along with 383 deaths in the last 24 hours. The active cases have seen a 3.2% increase as compared to yesterday. In the country, active cases have declined to 3.01 lakh. With 383 deaths happening due to the disease on Tuesday, the total death toll has reached to 4,45,768. 

The active caseload in the country has reached 3,35,31,498. "Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.90%; lowest since March 2020" said the Health ministry in the latest data update. 

Meanwhile, Kerala has recorded 15,768 fresh Covid-19 cases which is reflecting a decline in active cases. Presently the state is having active cases standing at 1.61 lakh. Kerala has also reported 214 deaths due to Covid-19 infection. 

WHO DG Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, "Thank you Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for announcing India will resume crucial COVID vaccine shipments to COVAX in October. This is an important development in support of reaching 40% vaccination target in all countries by the end of the year."
