On Saturday, India has reported 3,37,704 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending at 9 am, which is 9,550 lower than yesterday. With 2,42,676 new recoveries, the country's caseload of active cases currently stand at 21,13,365. The total number of Omicron cases has reached to 10,050.
On Friday, a large real-world study from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed, Covid-19 vaccines and boosters continued to have very high efficacy against severe outcomes during the Omicron wave of the virus.
Delhi
On Friday, Delhi has reported 10,756 fresh Covid-19 cases and 38 deaths in the last 24 hours, with the positivity rate at 18.04 percent, as per the city health department. At present, there are at least 61,954 active cases in the city while cumulative infections stand at 17,71,028. So far, 434 people have died due to the virus this month.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Delhi L-G Anil Baijal has rejected the government’s proposal to lift weekend curfew and ease Covid-19 restrictions. He, however, allowed private offices to reopen with 50 per cent capacity.
