On Monday, September 5, India reported 5,910 fresh cases of Covid-19 along with 15 new deaths and 7,034 people recovering from the deadly infection, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the overall caseload of Covid-19 infections in the country has climbed to 4,44,62,445, and the death toll has reached 5,28,007, said the ministry.

Comprising 0.12 percent of the total cases, the active caseload currently stands at 53,974, said the data. With the recovery rate standing at 98.69 percent, the total tally of recoveries from the deadly infection in the country has climbed to 4,38,80,464, including 7,034 recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours, said the ministry.
The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 2.60 percent and 2.15 percent respectively, said the ministry.
Delhi
On Sunday, the national capital reported 218 fresh Covid-19 cases along with no fresh fatality in the last 24 hours, as per the state health bulletin. As per the data shared by the city's health department, the positivity rate in the city currently stands at 1.93 percent.
On Saturday, Delhi registered 236 fresh cases along with 3 fresh fatalities. The positivity rate in the national capital stood at 1.98 percent, as per the state health department.
Maharashtra
On Sunday, Maharashtra reported 1,205 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 3 fresh fatalities, as per the data updated by the state health department. With this, the overall tally of Covid-19 infections in the state has climbed to 81,04,854, and the death toll has reached 1,48,264, said an official.
