On Wednesday, India has reported 6,984 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 8,168 recoveries and 247 deaths in the last 24 hours, said the health ministry. Total number of active Covid-19 cases in India has declined to 87,562, as per the Union health ministry. The health ministry said that the caseload of total recoveries in the country stands at 3,41,46,931. Whereas teh death toll has reached to 4,76,135. 

As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the number of total vaccination administered in the country has reached to 1,34,61,14,483 doses. Total 65,88,47,816 samples have been tested till date against Covid-19 in the country, including 11,84,883 tests administered on December 14. 

The study from researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard and MIT that has not yet been peer reviewed tested blood from people who received the Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines against a pseudovirus engineered to resemble the Omicron variant. 

In Maharashtra’s Thane district, with the addition of 55 new cases of coronavirus, the infection count has risen to 5,70,675, while two more fatalities pushed the death toll to 11,595, an official said on Wednesday.
