On Thursday, June 09, India reported 7,240 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 8 fresh fatalities and 3,591 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. The active caseload has climbed to 32,498, said the data. The nation's overall tally of Covid-19 infections stands at 4,31,97,522, while the death toll has climbed to 5,24,723 in the last 24 hours, as per the data. The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate stand at 1.62 percent and 0.91 percent respectively, said the ministry.

Maharashtra 

On Wednesday, Maharashtra reported 2,701 fresh Covid-19 cases, which is the highest in four months. 1,765 cases were reported in Mumbai, as per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). 

West Bengal 

On Wednesday, West Bengal registered 85 fresh cases of coronavirus, pushing the overall tally of Covid-19 infections to 20,19,832, as per the health department. With 48 people recovering from the infection in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has climbed to 19,98,158, said the department. 

Tamil Nadu 

Tamil Nadu reported 195 fresh Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the overall infection tally to 34,56,512, as per the state health department. With zero fresh fatality, the death toll remains unchanged at 38,025, said the department. With 101 fresh recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total tally of recoveries in the nation stands at 34,17,466, said the health department. 

Delhi 

The national capital logged 564 fresh Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the overall caseload to 19,09,991, as per the data updated by the health department. With one fresh fatality, the death toll has climbed to 26,214, the department said. The positivity rate in Delhi has reached 2.84 percent.
