On Friday, India has reported 1,17,100 fresh Covid-19 cases, which is over 28 per cent higher than the previous day's cases, said the health ministry. The number of deaths climbed to 4,83,178 with 302 more fatalities, the data showed. As per the data, India's active caseload currently stands at 3,71,363. With 30,836 recoveries in the last 24 hours the total recoveries stand at 3,43,71,845.

Omicron Cases
A total of 3,007 cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus have been detected across 23 states and Union Territories so far, out of which 1,199 have recovered or migrated, as per the Union health ministry's data update.
No need to wear PPE for Healthcare workers
Dr Randeep Guleria, the director of AIIMS said, “All available evidence suggests that the virus that causes Covid-19 spreads when people breathe in air contaminated by droplets and airborne particles containing the virus. Surface contact has a much lesser or no role to play in disease transmission."
Restrictions in Karnataka
In an official letter, Karnataka Govt said, "Offices of advocates/lawyers/law firms are permitted to function with 50% of their strength during weekends, strictly adhering to Covid appropriate behaviour. Movement of advocates, lawyers & staff permitted on producing valid ID cards."
