On Wednesday, India reported 3,205 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the total infection tally to 4,30,88,118 as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With 31 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, the death toll due to Covid-19 in the country has reached 5,23,920, the ministry said. 

In the last 24 hours, more than 2,800 people have recuperated from the viral infection, pushing the caseload of recoveries to 4,25,44,689, showed the data. As per the ministry, the nation's daily positivity rate stands at 0.98 percent and the weekly positivity rate is recorded at 0.76 percent. 

Vaccinations 

In the last 24 hours, more than 4.79 lakh vaccine doses have been administered, as per the data shared by the health ministry. So far, 189.48 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country under the vaccination drive against coronavirus. 

Mizoram 

On Wednesday, Mizoram reported 44 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the infection tally in the state to 2,27,600, as per an official. With zero fresh fatality in the last 24 hours, the death toll remained unchanged at 697, he said. 

Maharashtra's Thane district 

Thane district of Maharashtra reported 5 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, taking the infection tally to 7,09,080, said an official. With zero virus-related fatality in the last 24 hours, the death toll remains unchanged at 11,893, he said. 

Delhi 

On Tuesday, the national capital reported 1,414 fresh Covid-19 cases, which is 31 percent more than the fresh cases reported on Monday, as per the Health Department. The positivity rate in the city stands at 5.97 percent, said the department.
