People across India love to follow all the traditions, participate and enjoy this festival. They play with different colors, water, balloon and many special Holi dishes and drinks including gujhiyas, thandai or bhang etc. making this festival more colorful.
Holi begin with Holika Dahan on 28th March on Phalguna Purnima Tithi's night and Colored Holi will be celebrated on 29th March.
Holi festival symbolise the end of winter and start of spring season. Holika Dahan is celebrated when the statue of Holika are made and burnt, along with many traditions, pujas during this ceremony. This day is also called as Choti Holi and celebrated every year to remember the victory of good over evil. Next day is celebrated as colored holi also known as Badi Holi.
Thandai and Bhang are the drinks commonly people enjoy in Holi.
A very less known story of bhang, where devotees celebrated the friendship of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu's by consuming bhang. It is believed that Bhang was used as an ancient drink and also mentioned in Atharva Veda, as a beneficial plant that helps to relieve anxiety and makes one feel joyful. A small amount of bhang, if added in thandai (a beverage made mix of milk, almond, pistachios, sugar etc.), relieve the stress of people and make them to enjoy Holi to the fullest.

Bhang finds the special attention in Holi, which people love to consume. Bhang consumption, makes them to dance, swing, laugh and many more. But too much consumption makes the body restless and tired.
Hangover, because of bhang, makes them difficult to recover quickly. Some of the tips needs to follow if there is over-consumption of bhang.
Drink plenty of Lemon water: Lemon contains vitamin C, which help you in curing a hangover. Having antioxidant properties, it counter the effects of bhang hangover and keep you hydrated and fresh by removing the feeling of nausea and fatigue.
Hydrate your body with lots of fluids: Keeping your body hydrated with lots of fresh juices and fluids, help to reduce the feeling of nausea, as many times during Holi, body gets dehydrated.
Herbal Tea: Herbal tea has a very good detoxing properties, which help to detox your body by removing body toxins and thus help in reducing the effect of bhang on your brain and body. It also help effectively in dealing with the hangover.
Eat food which is less fried: Avoid such food, as it worsen the after-effects of bhang.
Avoid Painkiller: Don’t take the pain relieving medicines, as it cause side-effects
Hot shower: Taking shower with hot water is the best way to cure any hangover.
Go to sleep: Sleep is the best treatment for a severe headache and hangover, as bhang consumption, sometimes cause tiredness and headache also. Good sleep wake you up fresh.
