Using the air conditioner while sleeping is comforting in hot weather, as it can help you sleep faster and feel more refreshed after a night's sleep in the cooler climate (18-22°C). But doing this can have side effects because cold air is dry.
Extended use can dry your body, leading to dry skin, sore and scratchy eyes, throat, and nose. Some experience stiff joints, pain, or headaches due to temperature fluctuations and drafts. Clogged air filters can spread allergens, leading to aggravated coughs, sinus congestion, or asthma symptoms.
Tips include using a timer and humidifier, filtering, and preventing direct cooling. Although it enhances sleep during hot weather, it is important to use in moderation and maintain your equipment to avoid later complications.
Prioritise health and comfort over mornings!
