World Health Day April 7, 2021: Theme, Significance and Tips to stay Healthy

World Health Day is global health campaign observed by World Health Organization to spread awareness among people about their health life.

World Health Day is celebrated on April 7 every year, to raise the awareness about the overall people’s health and wealth worldwide, as millions are people across the world are suffering from many terrible diseases. This day is also celebrated to recognize the contribution of medical staff across world and success of world health organization. 

World Health Day 2021: This day is celebrated to keep inform people about their Health, as it is just not about physical maintenance but also about the mental and social aspects. A person is said to be healthy if they possesses all these qualities. As per WHO, to stay healthy is the central to human happiness and well-being and thus makes populations healthy, live longer and are more productive.

This day also throw lights on some important health issues like mental health, maternal and child care, and climate change.

World Health Day History

The first “World Health Assembly” was organized by WHO in 1948  and  assembly decided to celebrate the World Health Day on April 7 with effect on 1950 and since then, it is celebrated every year on the same day with the new theme. 

Over the past 50 years this has brought as importance on health issues like mental health, maternal and child care, and climate change.

The day is celebrated with the aim to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority about the area of concerns for the World Health Organization and to bring together doctors into action through the campaign, to help and eliminate health inequities and make world healthier.

Every year, the World Health Organization (WHO) come with a new theme highlighting a specific priority area of public health to make the world healthier. This year Theme is 

Building a Fairer and Healthier World for Everyone

The aim of this day is to ensure that everyone, everywhere realizes the rights to good health without distinction of religion, race, and political belief, economic or social condition.

How to achieve Good Health

  • Some of the following as mentioned below can help to achieve good health:
  • Eat healthy meals including lots of vegetable and Foods
  • Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Do regular exercise and meditation
  • Maintain hygiene
  • Get enough restful sleep
  • Avoid alcohol, smoking, tobacco, caffeine and sugary drinks
