This is an operation involving a relief homecoming of 70 Indian students pursuing different studies in several universities within Iran, and this is due to the deepening of the situation in the Middle East. The Indian Embassy in Tehran and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) organized the evacuation because direct flights to India were canceled and land routes became dangerous with the missile exchanges and tensions on the border as a result of the conflict.
A group of students will be flown using the commercial flights and special charter flights to Armenia (Yerevan) and Dubai (UAE), respectively, through the coordination of Indian authorities. The former had left Tehran early in the morning and passed through Yerevan; onto the Dubai route, the route was a short flight to the UAE, with the rest of the major Indian cities to be served afterwards.
The MEA spokesperson assured that all the students are fine and they were frequently contacting the embassy representatives. Members of the family were thankful for the prompt move, and most of them showed emotional footage of reunions at arrival airports. This is in line with previous warnings to Indian nationals to stay out of Iran and is a replica of Operation Ajay of 2024 in light of the instability in the region.
