Over in Fatehpur village, in the Barjibo-resident Sheikhpura district, Bihar, Ranjeet Yadav (also reported as Ranjeet Kumar) of Fatehpur village was arrested on March 17, 2026, on false claims of claiming a position in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 results announced on March 6 under All India 440 Ranking.
The daily wage worker, who was transformed into a motivational speaker, easily instigated the huge celebrations in his village, to which people, previous RJD MLA Vijay Samrat, and the police gave garlands, sweets, cash, gifts, and a VIP suitcase. He gave a properly emotional address in giving enthusiasm to youths and was called to felicitation at Mahuli police station.
There were also doubts when the official merit list was acknowledged by the villagers: AIR 440 was occupied by Ranjith Kumar R of Karnataka. Yadav was briefly missing after the fraud was uncovered but was later found and arrested in the College More, Sheikhpura town.
The same Station House Officer (Rampravesh Bharti) interviewed him and honored him ironically and did the arrest. Cases have been registered in police questioning potential accomplices because the incidence points at the dangers of pursuing false claims at the expense of genuine aspirants.
