Members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) were chased away by locals on Friday as they tried to enter Rampura-Kanwarpura village near Bagru in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The team, led by co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka, had gone to inspect a government primary school that has allegedly been operating from a buffalo shed for years as part of their “School Thik Karo” campaign.

Videos show villagers confronting, abusing and pushing the activists out of the area. CJP workers claimed they were attacked, called “terrorists” and “Naxals,” had vehicle windows smashed, and one member suffered a fractured hand. Ranka blamed “BJP goons” and said the police had been informed in advance.

Villagers, however, said they opposed the visit to avoid politicising the issue, claiming funds had already been sanctioned for school repairs and that they could handle the work themselves.

The incident has sparked a war of words, with CJP demanding action and accusing the ruling party of obstruction.
