New Delhi is again the most unsafe city for women in the latest Crime in India 2024 released by the NCRB. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), in its Crime in India 2024, has again declared New Delhi the most unsafe city for women to live in. The highest number of crimes filed were against women in the national capital, which included cases of rape, molestation, and kidnapping. Delhi also led with regard to offenses committed by juveniles.

The figures showed that crimes against women in Delhi were much higher than in the other metros. The city of Paris also experienced a surge in juvenile offenses such as theft, violence, and serious illegalities.

The alarming situation has been blamed on the surge in urbanization, demographic explosion, and problems faced by law enforcement. Ensuring women's safety is an important issue, as many reports of harassment and attacks have been made in public places.

The NCRB report has once again brought in the demands of stringent policing, improved street lights, prompt judicial representatives, and enhanced implementation of women's safety schemes in Delhi. Police have pledged to increase police presence and monitoring with the help of technology after the data was made public.
