It seems that a big controversy has broken out in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district over an alleged shooting by younger brother of Bageshwar Dham chief Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, allegedly over a land dispute. The victim, Motilal Kushwaha, said that he was beaten with sticks and shot by Garg and his cronies when they wanted to coerce him into selling his land and he was preparing to give evidence against the ongoing land grab.

According to the report, one of the bullets struck Kushwaha in the chest/stomach area and he was taken to hospital for surgical removal. Police has registered a case and set up a police research. Dhirendra Shastri has evidently broken away from his family announcing in public that he has no association with them.

After the event, the masses have been complacent and raised many issues concerning the land dispute with the famous religious establishment of his own. The victim is being treated, and officials are investigating the case. It seems Bageshwar Dham and its associates have once again been in the spotlight.
