On the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium, the Central Government sanctioned the transfer of Justice Lisa Gill of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to the Andhra Pradesh High Court, becoming the first woman, at any rate, to become the head of the institution.
Justice Gill officially became a judge of the AP High Court after a formal oath was administered to him in a ceremony organized at the first courtroom in Amaravati by the then Chief Justice, Dheeraj Singh Thakur, in the annexe of the Bar Association and top officials of the court.
Justice Gill graduated with an LLB and LLM at Panjab University, becoming an advocate in 1990 before being appointed a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2014, having had a successful career in various fields of law. NewsTodayOnline24
