On May 22nd, 2026, Honda has made a strong move towards the premium SUV segment in India by introducing its India-bred ZR-V e:HEV hybrid model. The ZR-V is a Completely Built Unit (CBU) that will be imported into Japan, and Honda will now be rolling out the lineup of its new flagship models in Japan for the luxury, efficient, and technologically advanced buyer in mind.

The 2.0-liter high-power hybrid e:HEV—which gives out 184 PS and 315 Nm—allows the SUV to achieve a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.8 kmpl and 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. It is powered by Honda's level-2 ADAS system with adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, four-way cruise assist, and Honda's collision mitigation braking.

The cabin features upscale amenities such as a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. 8 airbags and advanced driver aids help ensure safety. The pre-bookings commenced, and the assemblies are slated for delivery by July 2026, at an estimated price of ₹40-50 lakh. It is Honda's bold anti-EV move into hybrid SUVs.
