The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and at least 12 other states amid active monsoon conditions. Orange alerts and warnings for moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (up to 50-60 kmph) cover large parts of northwest, east and central India.

Delhi-NCR is likely to see widespread showers with the possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas. East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar face continued heavy rain spells, while Odisha and parts of Rajasthan could experience very heavy rainfall at isolated places. Hilly regions including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand remain under watch for heavy to very heavy rain, raising concerns of landslides and rising river levels.

Authorities advise residents to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from flooded areas and monitor official updates. The active monsoon system is expected to keep rainfall widespread over the coming days across multiple regions. Stay safe and follow IMD forecasts closely.
