In an audacious line of rhetoric, Iran has continued to say it will not accept a ceasefire proposed by the United States in the ongoing war between the United States, Israel, and Iran, which entered the fourth week as of March 18, 2026. The allies have expressed their aggression, and aggression continues to attack Iranian sovereignty, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an address on TV, "There will be no peace until the US and Israel are brought to their knees."

This refusal follows reports on escalated US airstrikes on Iranian targets, which have claimed the lives of close to 2,500 people in the region. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei shared the feeling on the state media, positioning the war as a defensive jihad against imperialism. Analysts caution that such an extreme approach may extend the war to the point that other allies, such as Russia or China may be drawn in.

They called on Tehran to restrain its actions. The position of the global leaders was led by the UN Secretary-General, but it does not promise an immediate de-escalation of the situation. The US termed the reaction as irresponsible as it pledged to defend its interests through diplomatic means.
